Munich, 22nd May 2026 – For the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Canada, Mexico and the United States, MagentaTV is setting new benchmarks in sports broadcasting. As general contractor for Deutsche Telekom, thinXpool TV GmbH holds overall editorial and production responsibility for the implementation of the FIFA World Cup coverage and has entrusted DMC Production Germany GmbH with the technical realization of the studio and production infrastructure.
With a total of 104 matches – including 44 exclusive games on MagentaTV – and more than 1,000 hours of programming, viewers can expect a comprehensive media experience. Three dedicated FIFA World Cup 2026™ channels will provide 24/7 live coverage, complemented by highlight shows, relive content and exclusive documentaries. All content will be delivered in UHD quality with Dolby Atmos and accessibility features, including audio description. For the first time, the entire production chain will operate fully in HDR, ensuring outstanding picture quality throughout.
International Studio Setup and Advanced Production Environment
The coverage will be centered around two studio locations in New York City’s Financial District and Munich, Germany. The New York studio will serve as the main studio hub, enabling close proximity to the matches across North America and providing live analysis and content directly from the stadiums.
The Munich facility will function as MagentaTV’s home studio and additionally feature a dedicated conference studio. It will also serve as the central control hub for the remote production workflow of the New York studio, with all live production operations managed remotely from Germany.
DMC Production Germany is responsible for the complete internal production infrastructure at both locations. The studios will feature innovative, high-end scenic design, advanced analysis graphics and premium LED wall integrations.
Beyond the studio environment, DMC Production Germany’s scope of services includes IP-based signal management and conversion, playout and feed enhancement, gallery production for all three FIFA World Cup channels, as well as ingest, recording and file management services.
High-Profile On-Air Team
The coverage will be hosted by renowned presenters including Johannes B. Kerner and Laura Wontorra, supported by a distinguished expert panel featuring Jürgen Klopp, Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels, Wolff Fuss and Tabea Kemme.
Additional formats and editorial content, including the “WM Breakfast Club”, will be hosted by Sascha Bandermann and Laura Hoffmann, among others.
Exclusive Content and Comprehensive Tournament Coverage
MagentaTV will broadcast exclusive matches from all tournament stages, including numerous group-stage fixtures and selected knockout-round matches through to the third-place playoff.
